I can report and write in both Spanish and English. I received a 2014 Equal Voice Journalism Fellowship from the Marguerite Casey Foundation to write a two-part series on public housing in Chicago and explore the life outcomes of families displaced when high-rise complexes were demolished in the early 2000s. That piece will be published soon in Spanish in Hoy Chicago and in English by Equal Voice News. I’ve been a full-time freelance reporter since September 2013.
