Aaron Leaf

I’ve been an editor for years at places like Guernica, Ricepaper and more recently Feet in 2 Worlds. I’m currently the managing editor of Ruins, a magazine about culture and the built environment. An essay I wrote was compiled in the book Canada’s Best Essays 2012. I also do stuff for Africa is a Country and soon, the Nation.

Catherine (Cate) Young

I can pretty much do anything, but my favourite things to write about and discuss are the feminist intersections of pop culture. I love television, I love movies and I love talking about what television and movies say about us as a collective. I can write for eternity about the way sexuality is perceived differently by race and how history feeds into those assumptions, but I can also write about the amazing way that Frozen subverted the “true love” trope and what it means to have overtly feminist media representations for children. If you need something written about pop culture, I’m your gal.

Kam Dhillon

I’m oversensitive to analogies and rambling essayistic speculation. I’m interested in art/technology/digital culture/media architecture/gender and globalisation as well as (un)adulterated trash and middle-brow pop culture.

Zing Tsjeng

I’m currently the digital news editor at Dazed and contributing writer at the Debrief. I’ve also freelanced for BuzzFeed, the Guardian and Vice.
