She Rises

The sun rises
bringing light to everything it caresses,
permeating the soul of every living creature
the earth possesses

It rises
bringing hope for a better day,
leaving behind the hopelessness
of yesterday

It rises
informing the world in it's own way
of the wonderment,
the miracle of our waking up everyday

The woman, she rises
to nurture the fruit of her womb
rendering lessons from infancy
till six feet tall, over her loom

She rises,
to develop the strength of tomorrow
teaching him morals and values
just to be confronted with sorrow

She rises
to be informed that the job she has done
fruitless; the streets, drugs, prisons, and graves
have won over her son

Just like the sun in the eyes of despair

She rises, the woman
she begins the new day
with faith and hopeful disguises
to help her on her way

She rises,
collects the strength within
searches the streets for her son
yanks him away, from his poisonous sin

She rises
looks into the eyes of her zombie child
she screams & yells, rants & raves
they will not see you as an animal in a cage

Just like the sun, she takes over her possession

She rises
six feet tall, in her grip
he feels her motherly love
till the call of the devil
slips and slips

She rises
bringing light to her boy
permeating his soul
till it's filled with joy

She rises
informing the world of the wonderment
of the strength, the courage, the determination of being a woman

She rises,
She rises,
She rises.
