Surviving addiction and divorce has given Gioya something to say! She has been writing on and off all her life, but is now determined to bring her messages to the forefront. Her stories and poetry speak to many who have overcome life's challenges only to emerge stronger than ever.

Gioya has funneled her creative energies from many forms of art (collage, crafts, sewing) into writing, resulting in an "Honorable Mention" in Writer's Digest 1999 Writing Competition.
