Demetria
Harvin discovered her love for writing in college as an undergraduate
student at Howard University. In her work, as a writer and editor,
she has really found herself. Writing was a talent Demetria
was afraid to express because many in her world said, "there's
no money in it." But Demetria is now realizing that if
she does what she loves the money will follow. She is influenced
by her father, Al Harvin, a former sports writer for The
New York Times and the first black sportswriter for The
New York Post. Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Demetria
hopes to one day publish a magazine about the Afrocentric aspects
of New York. |
