Dear Wordsmiths,

Thank you your interest in Writing On Reality and Dreams (WORD). WORD is an organization of independent writers of color. We critique works in progress, network, and promote literary events. We also publish Spreading the Word, our newsletter, which features profiles of up and coming writers, excerpts of their work, book reviews, articles on writing, and writing exercises. Our Web site, www.writersofcolor.org is dedicated to presenting members' work and providing networking opportunities through on-line forums.

WORD has many functions. We are a haven for writers and a non-profit organization that promotes literacy and literary events. Our committees include:

The Newsletter Committee: Committee members write and edit articles, interviews, and commentary for both 0n-line and print versions.

Events Planning Committee: Members organize pre- and post-production activities for literary events.

Literacy Outreach Committee: Members promotes reading comprehension and writing skills through community outreach.

Self Publishing Committee: Members works with writers to edit, design, and get their work published.

Networking Committee: member communicate with other members about writing opportunities and organization information

Our general Membership of $35.00 per year includes our newsletter, critiques, workshops and a chance to join a committee.

Our Web site design fee of $200.00 is optional and includes posting of your personal biography and two pieces of your written work on our Web site. Written materials should be updated quarterly.
